North America faces an annual wildfire season that exposes the seams between municipal first-response, provincial resources, and federal/military air support. The 2020 program needed a way to rehearse those seams without burning down a town.
Approach
ARTEMIS MIL scenario: a live fire polygon, BC GIS, real BCWS asset rosters and federal air-tanker fleet — multi-agency dispatch and tasking on a shared operating picture, with after-action timing on every cross-agency request.
Result
A repeatable wildfire-coordination drill embedded in the regional preparedness calendar; measurable reduction in cross-agency request latency between exercise cycles.
