Roadmap

What is coming next — and what we are scouting.

Borealis grows through curated acquisition and partnership. These are the product lines, sensor families, and service practices we are actively scouting, integrating, or scaling. If you build something in this space and want a route into Canada's defence Industrial & Technological Benefits programme, we want to hear from you.

Platforms — air, land, sea

Expanding the platform catalogue.

In integration · UAV

Tactical loitering munition

Sub-15 kg, low-signature loitering platform for short-range precision effects. Currently in partner evaluation for export-controlled allied customers.

In scouting · UAV

Group-3 hybrid-electric VTOL

200 kg-class hybrid VTOL with 12+ hour endurance and 50 kg payload — bridging the gap between BV 700 and crewed ISR.

In scouting · Maritime

Unmanned surface vessel

Mid-size USV for coastal ISR, mine-countermeasure relay, and persistent harbour patrol — integrated with BA 100 sensor heads.

In scouting · Ground

Small ground robotic platform

Tracked UGV for forward CBRN reconnaissance and breach support, integrated into the ARTEMIS common-operating picture.

Sensors & payloads

Extending the BA / BG family.

In integration · BG series

Acoustic gunshot & UAV detector

Wide-area passive acoustic array — companion to BG 120 for urban environments where radar return is degraded.

In scouting · BA series

Hyperspectral wide-area sensor

Pushbroom hyperspectral imager for environmental monitoring, mineral exploration, and substance detection — extending BA 100's RGB / NIR / LWIR stack.

In scouting · BH series

Augmented-reality command tablet

Ruggedized AR display for vehicle commanders — same scene-graph as NV 100 but in a vehicle-mounted form factor.

In integration · Comms

Mesh tactical radio integration

Directional mesh, low-probability-of-intercept waveforms, and Starlink-bridge gateways for mobile command posts.

ARTEMIS modules

New scenario variants in development.

In development

ARTEMIS Maritime

Coastal and harbour-defence scenarios — coast guard, port authority, and naval task-force rehearsal with integrated AIS, radar, and BA 100 feeds.

In development

ARTEMIS Energy

Oil & gas, pipeline, and grid-infrastructure scenarios — building repeatable plume-modelling, leak-response and grid-failure engagements with operator, regulator and municipal coordination on one operating picture.

In development

ARTEMIS Cyber-physical

Combined cyber-incident plus physical-effect rehearsal — for utilities, ports, and critical-infrastructure operators where the two domains converge.

Services & consulting

Where the consulting practice is going.

New practice

ITB advisory for Canadian Primes

Helping foreign defence Primes identify, qualify, and integrate Western Canadian SMB and Indigenous suppliers into ITB obligations.

New practice

Indigenous economic development

Partnerships with First Nations enterprises to bring defence and security work — manufacturing, integration, services — into Indigenous-owned operations.

Expansion

APAC training delivery

Scaling Philippines and Indonesia training delivery — formalising the ARTEMIS curriculum for partner air forces, ground forces, and disaster-management agencies.

New practice

Counter-UAS systems integration

End-to-end C-UAS programmes — combining BG 120 detection, soft-kill effectors, and ARTEMIS rehearsal for airports, energy sites, and military installations.
